Lovebirds' Song

soft as dawn’s hush they whisper and coo
a melody spun from the sky’s golden hue
two hearts entwined in a feathered embrace
singing of love in the warm morning grace

branches sway gently as echoes take flight
woven like ribbons in shimmering light
notes sweet as nectar drift through the trees
carried by whispers upon the soft breeze

no walls can contain what their harmonies weave
a promise, a secret, in songs that won’t leave
for lovebirds sing not of sorrow or flight
but of love that lingers, steady and bright

Sweet. Honestly, I am both conflicted and comforted by it. Lovely writing-

I really appreciate that, Paige--thank you. That tension between comfort and conflict is something I feel often when I write about love. I’m glad it came through, and even more grateful that it resonated with you.
