Love Who You Are

Hold your head up high
never let anyone bring you down,
let cruelty roll off your back
there's no need to frown.

Words can only hurt them
the ones that are mean,
don't let words into your heart
let the light inside beam.

Look in the bathroom mirror
and smile at yourself,
love yourself, for who you are
let hate, sit upon a dusty shelf.

Don't give into temptation
by being like one of them,
you would be no better than they
be yourself, don't create mayhem.

Love who you are
don't let tears and hate unfurl,
keep your head up high
you mean something to this world.

This is a dedication to this who have and are being called names and being bullied. I know what it feels like. I've been in your shoes. I still am being bullied. I've cried too many times, because of it. I've learned how to stand up for myself. I don't deal with the calling of names, but I yell to be heard.
