Love That Will Last

The sun is setting in the west A breeze is blowing through her hair This is the way he likes it best Them sitting in their rocking chairs Grandkids come, and on his lap He tells the stories of younger years And on their heads he'll plop his cap And chase away their childish fears Grandma's love for all would show As she held one close and dried a tear Family and friends would always know In her heart, they were held so very dear Still holding hands they rock along Remembering all the days gone past And to each other they sing a song No matter what, their love will last

I especially like the last verse because it sums up the poem so well. It brings back some good memories, reading about the grandchildren and how they loved them.
