Love That Avocado Green!
Our house was built in 'sixty-eight...bi-level, brick and white.
This was the modern age, and avocado made it bright!
I loved my new appliances in shiny sixties green...
refrigerator, matching stove, fulfilled the new-age scene.
They lasted many years, replaced just once...the find was tough.
But come mid-nineties, luck ran out...no avocado stuff!
Refrigerator died one day...a new one needed fast.
A plain old white one took its place, and I was left aghast!
My faithful stove looked sad without his avocado mate;
His lady fridge was gone, and soon he followed her bad fate!
Oh, how I miss those special days when colors were such fun!
Now Avocado green's Retro...it's modern era's done.
Pure white or stainless...choice today is dull...great colors lack.
If pendulum should swing again..bring avocado back!
