Love Song Ii

Within, without, the
sound of hope
decries,
a place so soft, so
small it begs to
live
in heart - in mind.
In sea of calm set
sail
to dream of spell so
sweet; so kind this
home,
and still this spot.
To touch this grace,
as when
we die; to rest in
sleep before this
dawn becomes
this day. And still
we are as love to
one
to join within one
soul. As if one
heart
could know its place
- inside one soul
alone.
If you could be but
one close thing, as
near
to me as GOD, in
raptured awe my
heart
would sing; to bless
your breath in
sweet, sweet psalm.

Andrea, thank you for your kind comment. I have been writing my entire life by instinct alone, but it is so interesting to be in a place where I can be tuned into a broader experience through the theories and concepts of how poetry works. Blessings D.

Hi Mystic Rose, I hope this move people in the way it was meant. What I am trying to convey is the dichotomy of the feeling of intense love for another, which can never be as close as one's relationship to God. I do not forget that we all have *just* a tiny human piece of God within, and that is about the best we can do and yet to me we are all an expression of God - there in all of us, to see or not, in the way He reveals himself. My choice is to see this or not. Blessings, Diana
