Love Potion Number Six

Though he tried to win her affection All he got was her rejection Then his best friend said he knew A woman who could make a 'love brew' So off they went with the notion That they could acquire this love potion They knocked on the old lady's door She let them in, so they could explore He told her of the girl he adored And how by her he was ignored Old lady Annie knew just what to do She whipped up a most potent brew It was indeed her favorite mix She called it "love potion number six" Then she said; "After putting this in her drink my boy The first person she sees will be her love toy" Just one drop and the girl would brim With so much affection, only for him! But now he had to think, How to get one drop in her drink He knew the place she'd go to eat And that's where he'd put in the potion sweet So his friend distracted her, and in a wink He put the love potion into her drink He puckered up for a passionate kiss, But then something went amiss After she took a sip of the potion's blend The first person she saw was his best friend!! 10-15-19
