Listen to poem:
When love comes dancing Down the street And grabs your arms With itchy feet That won't stay still She spins you round A lightness lifts you From the ground When love's insistence Captures you No sitting out Too shy won't do For every part Will want to move An inner rush To feel the groove To love's broad smile You have to face Her eyes are locked A new found grace A fleet of foot You thought had lost It's rhythm found No counting cost For love is free Her spirit true A human, full She'll make of you So when she breezes Through your doors The worldy rules Of dance, ignores In silence. No clamour for applause Just you and me We spin, then pause Just held so closely As if in trance We recognise This love of dance

I had the amazing privilege of front row seats for Giovanni Pernice and the true gent himself Anton do Beke in their stage show 'Together'. Both absolutely astonishing. I might have to dedicate this officially now x

Aw Sam, this is so sweet and romantic, and who would not recognise your dulcet tones. You have encapsulated the sponteniaty of that attraction and love. I totally agree with the SO summation. The last verse is particularly true and moving. Hugs Maria

Your poem beautifully encapsulates the spontaneous, joyous nature of love through the extended metaphor of dance. It conveys how love can lift spirits, break down inhibitions, and create profound connections between individuals. The playful tone and rhythmic structure enhance the overall effect, making the reader feel the lightness and freedom that love brings.
