Love Not the World

Love not the world nor its gold and goodies Cling to the cross and lay there your burden The world and its cares will one day be the stories You will tell the angels at the gate of heaven. Live not in the world as a lord over it Learn to live as a stranger and pilgrim For one day you‘ll be called out of it And all your wisdom, weath and wares will become a dream. Lend not your heart to the world of sin Nor give your heart to mischief and cruelty Let not your tongue pierce others within But soak yourself in the depth of honesty. Lose not your talent and treasures to this world, Give not your heart to sleep nor your eyes to slumber Use your brains and brawns to profit unto the lord Love not the world for it’s full of pains and blunder.
