Love Neverlasting

You said that you would always love me. You said that you would never leave. Your words were so convincing. I thought I could believe. Me and you forever. That is how it was supposed to be. Now why is it that I sit here alone? Wondering where the love of my life has gone. I wrote this poem for my ex-wife because she swore her love was everlasting. But now I know the truth. Her love was neverlasting.
