Love Meets Destruction

I look at you
With a sense of passion,
A sense of love,
A sense of devotion.

I look at myself
With a sense of shame,
A sense of failure,
A sense of pain.

I pray nothing but the best
For you.
I pray all of your hopes and dreams
Come true.

Remember me,
Remember my name.
Forget my flaws,
Forget my mistakes.

I tried being wonderful,
I tried being great,
I tried being perfect,
But I made my mistakes.

I was never good enough,
It was always true,
But what was too good for me
Were my feelings for you.

You're nothing less than perfect,
I'm nothing more than a mess,
But when I think of you and smile
I know I don't have regrets.
