Love, Loss, and Life

Love, Loss, and Life
Calvin L. Genereux
April 3/2010

Eyes they locked,
Steady glance.
Stopped and talked,
Took a chance.
Time to know,
Got to see
Lovers grow,
Him and me.

He was mine,
Loved him so.
All was fine
Don't you know.
Sacrifice
Everything.
Won't suffice,
Painful Sting.

Bones can break,
Minor pain.
Hearts will ache,
Burned again.
Loved him so,
Broke my heart.
Couldn't know
From the start.

Now it hurts,
Pain so real.
Horrid spurts,
All I feel.
Love him still
Oh so much.
I would kill
For his touch.

Let me die,
Set me free.
Question why,
Let me see.
Broken man,
Hard to bare.
Shattered plans,
Wear and tear.

Crying now,
Vision blurred.
Wondering how,
So absurd.
Want you back,
Must press on.
Heart attack,
Hope is gone.

Salty tears,
Bitter taste.
Racing fears,
Quickly paced.
Suck it up,
I am strong.
I'm no pup,
Did no wrong.

Cry no more,
I will live.
Settled score,
Much to give.
Pressing on
Bitterly.
I'm not a pawn
Now set me free!
