Love Isn't Love Anymore

Promises are embraced but vows forsaken, Beauty is highly adored but the heart mistaken. When a problem does arise, there is consolation Followed by an unfair trade for a lover's adoration. Often there is competition for the manly power. Mine is mine and yours is yours, hardly “us” and “ours”. Flattery is showering her with many flowers, This kindly favor for the neighbor when such love grows sour. Then are shared the hurtful words, distrustful criticism, Sarcasm for the birds and one-sided decisions. When you claim to love someone, these actions you envision? There's no wonder after all such love feels like a prison! It is the love of this world, which isn't love anymore. Chanté Walker
