Love Is

Love is not earned
Nor given away
It transcends all time
And lives past the grave

Love can be kind
Or cut like a knife
Most will feel both
As they go through this life

Patient and pure
Unending you'll find
May you open your heart
So you can feel mine

What's in the beginning
Holds true in the end
Love is what matters
Between a woman and man
