Love Is

Love would not seek a gentle kiss from one whose heart and mind are stones
For truly love is not inclined to dominate a will that groans
Nor bend another's choice through fear of force or subtlety
For love does not avenge itself as does a tyrant's cruelty
Love's desire, for those beloved, is all their liberty
As love cannot conceive that souls are merely property
Love hopes to give and share it's all, and join two lives into one life
Whose lives are bound by covenant, in love, as husband is as wife
