Love Is
Love is more than a word said in the heat of passion
Or to be used as a band aid after a battered obsession
Love is something God commands us to do above all else
Love is action and takes effort to love more than one self.
Love is more than fantasy you see on the movie screen
Love is not measured by the size of the diamond in your ring
Love is something that should be cherished and protected
Not shown by a jealous rage when you have been rejected
Love does not leave scars or bruises but can leave its mark
For everlasting love can grow even from the tiniest of sparks
If you seek perfect love you will not find it here on earth
It has become mangled and twisted somewhat perverse
Only love so perfect can be found in our Lord and Savior above
For he is the true meaning of the word because God is love
