Love Is
Love is a gentle touch, warm and constant
through the years. A slow dance to remember
as youth’s burning fire falls in an instant
from flames ablaze to glow of soft ember.
Love is two hearts shaped into one, timeless.
Trials survived are triumphs come snow-capped
winter days. Memories of spring’s fluoresce
lighten steps over darkest paths unmapped.
Love is selfless, forgiving in actions
when words are not enough to build a bridge
over stormy waves. The satisfaction
of days shared ‘til sun sets over life's ridge.
Love is unexpected beauty within
the depths of shadowy night. Hope revealed
in starry skyline when earth seems to spin
at dizzying speed with dawn’s light concealed.
