Love In the Afternoon

Love in the afternoon She was a young heart in dawn of bloom He was an old heart in brink of doom But she adored him like the golden moon His presence sparked her flame He's like a sun in its gleaming beam For, he was her ultimate dream And she was caught in a serious game He was her first love Though she was not his first But he was the quench of her thirst Like her rain of bliss from up above And her true love saved his life Like an armor against a piercing blade It was for him that she was made And he was thankful she was his wife April 5, 2023 A Brian Strand Premiere No 1206 Poetry Contest Sponsored By: Brian Strand

I like this one, Roger. Love knows nothing of age or any other boundary. Nicely penned!
