Love In It's Purest Form
Love in its purest form.
I finally understand what true love is.
It’s not what I had always thought it was.
Not what I have searched for my whole life.
Love is not all about passion that burns so deeply it sets your world on fire.
It is not an obsession.
Love is not all consuming.
It is not jealous or controlling.
Love isn’t at all what I believed it to be.
No, love is always being there.
Never turning your back no matter how hard things may get.
Love is just knowing when you wake up you won’t be alone.
The confidence that the one you love will always be there.
Love is gentle and understanding.
It is constant, yet ever changing.
Love is pure.
How could I have been so wrong about something so clearly simple?
Searching my whole life for a lie.
Only to be disappointed time after time.
Now that I have found true love I will never let it go.
I will hold on to it with all my might.
Thank you Lord, for giving me my one and only pure, honest and true love.
