Love hurts

Wife walked away,
Nothing left to say,
No excuse for love,
End of loving dove,
No chick touched, his woe,
Did not fade to shadow,
He prayed she would return,
His pleas she did spurn,
She did survive,
Her gift did thrive,
Silver grey, no strife,
Once she was a wife,
Love can hurt, okay,
Grand for some, I say.
