Love From a Mother

The moment you first hear
Is the beginning of your worst fear
You pray for them to find happiness and health
Someone to love, a family and wealth

Then you watch them cry that first tear
Everything you do will show them you are here
Anticipating their every want and need
All to know they will succeed

The end of their first year
Beginning of "Toddler Premiere"
Exploring their world around
Letting go, within bounds

School age is finally here
Kindergarten days are near
Bright eyed as they learn
Anxiously you wait for their return

Then come those teenage years
Bringing about new sets of fears
Navigating life as they learn who they are
Turmoil inside as you watch silently from afar

As childhood days disappear,
The greatest piece of you will appear
All grown up, they are your very creation
Full of life's dreams and aspirations

Michael, Jesse, and Destynee
Through a mother's eyes you will see
That through Life's ups and downs
That Mom will always be found

I am always going to be here
To lend a hand or an ear
No matter when, where, what or why
Mom will always be close by
