Notes About The Poem

Love Did Grow

Her tears will quiet as time heals Oh, dear Jesus, but how this feels! Her conscious makes quiet appeals But she must silence her soul Forgiveness can’t make her whole When she made this hard decision Allowing them their incision Felt like life’s vilest collision Abortion is only a word God’s voice, she had not heard Feelings to face, heartache to bare Recalling when she’d not a care But now she lives on a prayer What has become of her heart? What’s become of the soft part? Without telling anyone, she chose She’s feeling like everyone knows So cold inside – has her heart froze? Wondering about the life… One she ended, such grave strife! Abortion - a choice, but why? These feelings, oh, she wants to die If only her heart would not cry! A choice, yes – but you know Inside her, babe’s blood did flow Be strong, they said – could she know Beneath the scalpel, life (love) did grow!

Excellent, Gina. I am offended by the stupidity of my own sex. Females who put themselves in this predicament in the first place. There are all kinds of things for contraception. Even a day after pill in case you got drunk or raped, yet women are using abortion as if it's common birth control. It's senseless and so cruel to the fetus who surely feels the pain from it despite what the abortion advocates preach. I only support its use in instances of rape, incest or mother's health at risk.

Rip my heart before breakfast, you did, Regina. I know you didn't single me out but, man oh man, this beautifully written poem oozes with emotional pain for this readers heart. I best run and find a humorous poem. LOVE

I'm so very against abortion... wish I could just say how my heart aches for those mothers and children and all the infertile women (like me)... who would just love to see the light of a child's eyes staring into their own. God Bless you
