Love Conquers All
I have just realised,
six years ago today,
I sent you on your way.
I had taken a leap
into the unknown.
If only I knew
where I was going.
To hell and back,
as it turned out.
Despair and depression
for years hung about.
No reserves of energy left,
to cope with the fallout.
The beautiful girls
that we had created,
could not fathom
this marriage cremation.
Hurt and angry
they turned on me.
So sad they could not see.
For love of them
I had stayed with you.
Twenty years too long.
Time has healed
our gaping wounds.
Love has lifted
all our connections
back to perfection.
Six years it took.
From today.
