Love

Broken heart because of love,
my angel soars somewhere above.
Can't know for sure where you hide,
all I know, not by my side.

My hope for you, not being here,
there's no more pain, no more fear.
I'm grateful for the time we had,
my life you graced, was good, now sad.

Can't help but feel this loss of you,
my heart won't heal, our love was true!

This is so nice Mark. I love to see the gratitude you have for the time together. That is so important with getting through loss. Well done. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Heidi! It has been less than 10 months since my wife Avis passed. We were together since March 13th 1982, our 1st date. Married on 9/17/83 I don't really consider myself a poet of any kind, but I write some of my feelings on paper to help me dump this tremendous grief I feel over losing my very special Wife. Yes I was fortunate to have had her in my life, however short the time we had together! She was only 55 years young, when she was taken from me.

This brought tears to my eyes. I feel the love you have for your wife is like I have for my husband. Last year he nearly died twice from sepsis. I remember praying that if this really was his time to go, then could the good Lord take him quickly so he didn't suffer. It obviously wasn't his time and I'm grateful every day. He still is poorly and life can sometimes be hard. I can only imagine the pain you are going through now. Blessings Mark.

Thank you Elizabeth! My best wishes to you and your husband. Yes indeed, every day you have together, successively, is the very best day!
