The chimney smoke to me represents the wolf's cremation of inhibition Craig. I appreciate the poetic intellectual challenge of this write. J.A.B.

Lovely way to put it Justin..particularly as you aware of my living in a Hindu village. I saw many aspects to this poem; the obvious one as per the title and the imagery..also the fire burning within each of us and how it still burns no matter the circumstance..the smoke and how it can be hiding Truth..even from our-self..and the last line and how it could be viewed as representing re-incarnations..each leading to a final nirvana. Nirvana in sanskrit literally means "blown out" as in candle..and so the fire and smoke in each "no"..until that final "yes". You have a fine eye..thank you
