Lost With the Wind

A hopeless gift, A starless sky, All locked away, In a fateful lie. The people they see, All the hope that we hold, Never again to be hugged, Even while we grow old. Like a small piece of paper, Wet with rain, wet with sleet. Left for it was taken away, By the friends that we meet. I see it now, The endless dreams, Not to be mentioned again, Or so it seems. For when we think for it, Even though we don't wish to. we must all remember, That part of you. Friends say they love you, People say they need you. But that paper that stands, Out in the cold out in the snow, Was the only thing that was really true. Its all lost with the wind, All lost with your tears, And nothing will ever Bring that near.
