A countryside walk gives me such delight yellow dandelions grow in the field Soon they will transform, changing to pure white soft puffballs, where minute seeds are concealed - to a gentle breeze all these seeds will yield Tiny seeds hang on to white parachutes, with mother nature they are in cahoots Scattered by the wind they drift in the air until they fall to earth and put down roots… but some gardeners find them a nightmare! Pick-A-Title, Vol 21 - Dizain - Poetry Contest Sponsored by Edward Ibeh Chosen Title . 5. Lost To The Wind 10 syllables per line, checked with Rhymezone and how many syllables 08/05/20

Hi Jan, This is a very broad slant in lyrical terms on the subject and you have completed the task with maximum aplomb. Congratulations. You have succeeded on merit. Howard

Hello Jan ... another dandelion fan. If only the dandelion was recognized as a beneficial herb, tea, and coffee substitute, and not a weed - enjoyed your verse Jan - Lindsay

A delightful description of dandelions, Jan! I used to collect them and give them to my mother. She seemed happy, but maybe it was because I had "weeded" her garden. Big smiles for you and best wishes in Edward's contest! Hugs, Carolyn

Clever choice of subject and well written, but neither you nor anyone else mentioned dandelion wine! Is everyone on the wagon? Aloha! Rico

Very nice, Jan! You know I never wondered about the seeds. Never analyzed the whole dandelion process. Thanks!

They tend to give people sinus problems but children love them almost like blowing bubbles into the air. Great write Jan, Blessings and hugs, Jennifer.

I do not want this to happen too soon; autumn does not need to rush this year. I am still enjoying my blooming flowers especially my crepe myrtles. This poem's imagery is gorgeous, Jan.

So charmed by this double dizain ode to the two-sided coin of the dandelion. Is it nature's beauty or a weed? Depends on whom you ask, of course! Loved the read, and I wish you all the best in the contest, my friend. It's a #1 to me!

Hi Jan and yes they are truly a nightmare to get rid of. Those white floating seeds just love to find those nice green lawns to add some color too. But your poem is excellent in description. love phyl
