Lost Symmetry

Between dreams, memories and realities there remains in life no symmetry Dreams have their place in time, space and poetry sending the soul soaring to the heights and depths of boundless emotions with knights in shining armor and true loves bliss Memories, often bittersweet to the soul, explode without warning, their scattered pieces caught up in time’s mind-stripping whirlwinds soon carried off to the land of Forgotten Abyss Reality, the wakened state of living one’s life, in the here and now, with eyes wide open to what is, what’s been and what probably will or not be as hope falters and the soul wonders what’s amiss Yes, dreams have their place, lost love memories tease and reality becomes the sworn enemy

So sorry my poem made you cry. I am one of the fortunate ones - my Mom is 91 years old and still driving her own car. I think she will make 100 at least. I have prayed that God will comfort you in your loss. Love, Maureen

Wow Debra, your words are moving and your descriptions are very heartfelt. Very profound read and delivered with style and a true keen sense of reality...you are awesome dear friend. This poem is a masterpiece and I love it. I've read it a few times and each time it brought back many fond memories, some sad as well and it also brought to life dreams... and yes I agree, in life there is no symmetery! Moving with passion is what I love about your stuff! Excellently done!

Interesting write, Debra. For some of us lost souls, however, it is not always so clear where one state ends and the other begins. Perhaps, therefore, we are lost in the symmetry. I myself, often exist in more than one and sometimes all three at the same time, it seems. Oh for some clarity in my asymmetrical world. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful poem. PS - I think all poetry includes a sense of vouyerism, we are just peeking into different areas of the poet's world.
