Lost Sparrow

Beneath dark clouds gathering
a sparrow walks, shivering,
circling in the mud of winter,
his wing a broken splinter.
He's unable to fly into spring.

I felt sad for the Sparrow. This sort of thing does happen in the wild it is sad when it does...
