Lost Myself

I lost myself trying to find some truth in what you said Kept making up excuses for your actions in my head Kept replaying the conversations, reliving moments that passed Thinking I had you so close, but you slipped from my grasp... Lost my sleep and my dignity trying to figure you out would've waited forever if you asked without a doubt but you didn't want my loving, it was plain to see that while I broke, you were thriving in my misery... I lost myself questioning which part of you was true wasting my time loving someone who only made me blue and the one day it dawned on me that you're a waste of time and the only heart that was broken here, was mine so, I'm picking up the pieces and gonna get some glue put it back together, this time, without you...

Thanks for sharing this. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God bless you.
