Lost In Transit

Poems lost in transit
That I forgot to save;
It feels just like a memory
That was taken away.

Thoughts and lines once thought of
But never written down,
Fade into lost history...
Fade into the ground,

And I am left with nothing,
No key to pull them out.
If I don't save them when they come
The seed will never sprout.

Poems lost in transit,
Memories just washing astray,
Words that were once worth writing;
Dark, and fading away.

to take a fleeting moment and hold on until it forms is universal to all poets, it's hard to do..to write about this process is called truth..we've all lost thoughts that come like string as it unwinds, only to find it breaks and disappears ...nice poem..these were my first thoughts after reading your poem

I know how that is, now I always keep a pen and paper handy. I have a poem title "where is my pen" that is a humorous approach to this subject. It does seem so many thoughts get lost in transit, thanks for getting these out there :)
