Lost Here In the Waves
With a little faith you can get out of the boat.
There’s no sink or swim, you can confidently float.
There might be no fear of a watery grave
But accidents will happen: each one a closer shave.
I know Jesus saves… but I’m still lost here in the waves.
Everybody’s wanting some shelter from the storm.
A place to call their own that is nice, safe, and warm.
So we’re always told it’s ours if we behave
But we could lose it all if we chase all that we crave.
I know Jesus saves… but I’m still lost here in the waves.
It’s not so much the thunder but lightning we fear.
Deadly electricity in the atmosphere.
Trade the open water for the warm, safe cave
While trying to convince the world we are oh so brave.
I know Jesus saves… but I’m still lost here in the waves.
If you think it’s all under control
Just climb over the side and take a stroll.
See how far you get before you sink into the deep
And you must wake Him from His sleep.
What is the lesson learned, then? What should we all know?
If we’re on a journey, where is it we will go?
Balance what’s taken with the things that we gave…
For we are to be family, never to be slave.
I know Jesus saves… but I’m still lost here in the waves.
