Lost Goodbyes

When there are no more tomorrows to become yesterdays and regrets drip with sorrow too late to repay, we will wish for the chances to say lost goodbyes -- egos that fight blinded with pride. But the sunlight that screams in the skies gone away casts gold on my memories and become yesterday. When I spoke without fear of what you would say I heard the wake of the morning lapping the bay. We smiled at it all and cried our goodbyes on the shores of our memories at the edge of the sky...

I am here because poetry touches me. Every now and then, I read one with a touch that especially seeps feel deep within me and tingles my all. I leave here poem exhilarated and I love that. Just love it, I do. Poetry hugs ... CayCay

There's so much here... where to start. So many of my memories I've lost, seems only the ones I've tried hardest to forget remain. So I'll say what I need to say, do what needs to be done, to make good memories with the time I have left. I enjoy your 'poems of the heart' Craig.

You're a Dear, Flo...I pray you and your beautiful family are well and happy--I love strong woman, my Mom is one (95) and my wife is one - I have no patience for shallow--this poem is fiction (but then nothing we think is truly fiction), yet to add to your thoughts.. “Your memory is a monster; you forget–it doesn’t. It simply files things away. It keeps things for you, or hides things from you–and summons them to your recall with a will of its own. You think you have a memory; but it has you!” – John Irving - Luv to you!

Perhaps, the saddest word of all, goodbye.

Perhaps indeed, and why I love the way my Canadian friends phrase it..."Goodbye for now"..
