Lost Friendship
This time, it’s forever,
Now the end could come,
All this painful silence,
Thought that we were friends,
How is it this silence?
Too much for me to bear,
Aching from my heart,
How can I endure?
Each day as it goes by,
Our friendship pass nigh,
With every spoken sorry,
I’ve meant it as I sigh,
And as the time keeps ticking,
My heart seems to wonders why,
Thinking of our friendship,
Our love is passing by,
Compelling me to say,
I’m sorry! Why,
You seemed to close the door,
Slammed it that way,
Splitting us apart,
I just wanted to say,
I’ve tried to make amends,
Now it’s up to you,
I’m always here and waiting,
All my life long through.
I’ve tried so many times,
Now it’s up to you.

A Golden Chain - Poem by Helen Steiner Rice
Friendship is a Golden Chain,
The links are friends so dear,
And like a rare and precious jewel
It's treasured more each year...
It's clasped together firmly
With a love that's deep and true,
And it's rich with happy memories
and fond recollections, too...
Time can't destroy its beauty
For, as long as memory lives,
Years can't erase the pleasure
That the joy of friendship gives...
For friendship is a priceless gift
That can't be bought or sold,
But to have an understanding friend
Is worth far more than gold...
And the Golden Chain of Friendship
Is a strong and blessed tie
Binding kindred hearts together
As the years go passing by.
