Lost Friend

When I was in elementary school a young girl had ask me to write her some poetry, as I gave her a funny look and said to her goodbye and I will try. At only seven years old I did not know what was poetry, I asked my friends and none did know what was poetry. When I went home I had asked my father what was poetry he told me to write some words that mean a lot to me. I thought and I thought of what to write that night and thought of some words that meant a lot to me, I wrote and I wrote these words down and that was my poetry. The very next day I saw this girl and she had asked me, did you write me some poetry? I said yes I did so proud was I and she said, could you please read it to me? I had sat her down right next to me and read her my poetry and this is what it said: These are the words that mean a lot to me, a new bike, a model plane, a new basket for my hoop but the best word that I could think of is: You! She smiled and kissed me on the cheek and my face turned bright red she then became my best friend and it seemed it would never end, until she moved away and I have not seen her until that last day, that we said goodbye, Debbie I will forever miss you, my lost friend.
