Notes About The Poem
27th June 2023
Listen to poem:

Lost Doll - Contest

Her painted face
Upon the shelf
Where once did grace
Alongside Elf

Alas no more.
His love forlorn
The Christmas spirit
Tattered, torn

Where once she sat
More than a toy
She was his girl
Adjacent boy

In stillness, hearts
Would thump and clatter
'til Jolly man
Those dreams would shatter

To distant land
New life begin
Her tears down cheeks
Of porcelain
