Lost But Not Forgotten
Awakened to the sound of screaming
As the earth begins to shake
Where are all your loved ones
In the midst of this massive quake
Fears on a mass proportion
Begin to fill your heart
As the buildings begin to crumble
It tears your world apart
It lasts, what seems like, forever
There's nothing you can do but pray
Nothing will ever be the same
For your world has changed today
All communications fail you
No one knows where you are
You hear the people talking
But yet they seem so far
Minutes go by like hours
And the hours go by like days
There's nothing but pain and heartache
That's lost in a hopeless daze
Lost, but not forgotten
As you hear your family cry
Their tears are their last farewell
As you give up the ghost and die
This poem is dedicated to the families affected in the recent earthquakes.
