Lost and Found

In the chords of Kozelek, I played away the sting— The hurt of freshly wounded love, On old metallic strings And in the songs of Witmer, My mind tried to erase The things my heart could not forget— The visions of her face For I remembered what we had, And all that could have been; The day I drove away, I knew I would return again Though thirteen years have come and gone, And we have grown and changed, I’ve found again the love I lost, And with her heart I’ll stay.
