Lost and Found

She found happiness when she would get down,
Swimming to the bottom of that bottle of Crown.
It gave her courage and strength to stand up to all,
And not having to worry should she stumble and fall.

But as time slowly crept by she realized things had not really changed,
Only that they had simply been moved around, rearranged.
Then that old feeling of depression finally returned,
And she could feel the flames of hell so deeply they burned.

Then in desperation one night she cried out loud and long,
Lord I need your help, please show me where I belong.
She said, oh Lord I’ve been a sinner but You know my story well,
Then she had a vision of Christ, hanging on the cross, and she could see those bloody nails.

Into His eyes she saw the suffering He endured, then she saw Him die,
Then her eyes filled with tears as she started to cry.
Then like a million tiny needles started pricking at her skin,
She knew this was His blood cleansing her of sin.

And as she stood up she knew her old life was gone,
A new light in her eye, and she knew this day was to be her knew dawn.
Clean and sober now with no desire to ever go back,
She reaches out to others and tells them how the devil attacks.

She'll never find what she's looking for at the "bottom of the bottle." Very inspirational, Ronald! A powerful and timely write as Easter approaches. Love, Carolyn
