Lost

I sit and watch, As time goes by, All the while, Wondering why. The days are short, And the minutes, Oh-so long. As I sit and remember you, With this song. Your life passed me by, Just like I knew it could, Never slowing down, Although, we all knew you should. I miss you with my heart, I see you when I close my eyes, If only I had known you were leaving, I would have said a more heart-felt good-bye. I miss you with sadness, In memory I speak your name, This life is so full of questions, And I'm still trying to figure out how to play the game. I hear your voice in my dreams, I my nightmares, I'm still calling your name, Only to wake and realize, Everything is still the same. I miss your smiles, And your stupid grin, The way you looked when you were angry, And when you knew you would win. I've thought of a thousand resons why, And none seem to fit, I wish you would have talked to me, When you felt you were hardest hit. You broke my heart, when you left me here, Standing all alone to cry, But the memories you left me were your greatest gift, I don't even have to say why. I didn't think I would ever forgive you, But it came in time, Along with much needed healing, And the end of this rhyme.
