Loss

Another mutual smile
One more word
Another last goodbye
That no one really heard

Everyone I love will fade
It’s set in stone
That everything I can not save
Will leave me all alone

In a loss that shapes the world
I still fall
For everyone that I had held
Another death will heed my call

Weak and lacking hope
No more sun
As I shun the dying light
I realise what I’ve become

Anything that I can hold
I turn away
My only real piece of hope
Is left in my decay
