LOSS
Dreams are now lost and Hope floats away, ruining a chance for a better day
Oh to return to times now past, with memories fresh where the good times last
The future is uncertain and Joy out of reach, the lessons we’ve learned we now never can teach
How hard to realize the way life can change, and that things don’t often get better with age
Will people forgive will wrongs be made right, or will bitterness cause a perpetual fight
The narrative altered and the lies now abound, will the truth come to light, will it ever be found
Will justice be done to those who stepped in, abusing their power and compounding their sin
How can forgiveness come back and return, will the anger be doused, or continue to burn
Will the pain and anguish ever heal, or will heartache dominate and happiness steal
How will the innocent move forward and thrive, will those who are crushed find the will to survive
Will love win out will reconciliation take place, or will the separation increase as they take their own space
Would we act different if we knew that someday, all we held dear would be taken away
The way things were is the way it should be, when we were together as a family
