Losing You
Traveling through Kentucky
On this moonless mountain night.
Shadows rise above me
On either side.
I would wail at the moon
With my loss on this long ride,
But all is lost to darkness
On this moonless mountain night.
They tell me grief a journey
My own to bring to light,
But losing you strikes blindness,
On this moonless mountain night.
The miles stretch out before me
So it seems an endless flight.
I miss you, oh, I mourn you,
On this moonless mountain night.
