Lord of My Moment

Time wont move
Its like Im paralyzed by it.
Memories and dreams,
They make no difference to me.
The blooming of a flower,
The floating of petals in the air.

History conjoined with the future,
Unending, memories we have no control over.
The laughter of a newborn,
The wail of a dying man.

As the clock continues with its incessant song,
and another speck adds to the heap of gold
in the hourglass,
i choose to live now.
Relishig what I can control,
Neither victim nor schemer,
Just the lord of my moment.
