Looking Not Seeing

LOOKING NOT SEEING

We look but don't see
darkened steps walked,
searching never finding,
look inside
if you feel it
you know happiness
is what you are
what you have
need is want
want is greed
greed we feed
of more and more
another door closed
plenty more open,
waiting a lifetime
is worth much more
for when we are ready
a light will shine
our path bright.
