Looking For Love (Part One)

Lost somewhere between desire and fear,
Or am I between wanting and getting.
Only heaven knows why I am fretting,
Kept in the dark, because love is unclear.
I know why I continue to shed tears,
Not surprised by these eyes that are wetting,
Grieving over such a lonely setting,
Focussed on being the only one here;
Ostracized from any romantic love,
Reminded that isolation brings pain,
Leaving me out of options with a shove,
Opened up to love, with nothing to gain.
Vanished is the hope that comes from above,
Evicted from the shadow that remains.
