Notes About The Poem

We the people, in order to form a more perfect union..... what has happened to We the People?

Looking Back On Nine-One-One

Looking Back on Nine-One-One

Looking back on nine-one-one,
The one several days ago.
Not the one, two thousand one,
But the one we've come to know.

Did you listen to George W.
And to what he had to say?
Must fight all the terrorists,
Those at home and those away.

Those ensconced in Washington,
Be it House or Senate floor,
Or God forbid, the president,
Raising up the terror score.

Americans be wary
Of the future planned for us.
Royalty, in Washington,
Plans to throw us 'neath the bus.

Days are gone to have our say.
Graft and terror are the rules.
How did this happen to us?
Are we mostly stupid fools?

Light the flame of liberty.
Don't just cower in the dark.
May not be a fire yet,
But there's more than just a spark.

Raise your hand for liberty.
Show the middle finger sign.
Speak up now, before you can't,
In the sand, just draw the line.
