Looking Back

Walk through the stainless steel gate with my head held high knowing that I'm catching someone's attention with their wondering eye. Looking cute in my one-piece bathing suit with purple and blue oh cannot forget yellow too. Splash splash little feet take a bath in the cool, refreshing, clear water. As we wait they agitate by splashing me with pool water. I retaliate in the wait, but only I seem to be the only one getting into trouble. I scrunch my nose as I'm the first to go, head first, hands held....under I go. Back to the surface back on the wall taking in the scent of summer. My name is called by a familiar voice that grabs my attention from the directions the swimming coach is instructing. Shielding my face from the blazing hot summer sun with my little hand I turn my attention to the voice. Camera in hand its time to pose looking cute with wrinkling toes. Strands of wet hair lay round my childlike face. Sticking out my tongue amusing all the camera clicks and my job is done.
