Look Up Or Daydreams of Death

Look up! / Daydreams of Death

Look up!

The cold, the blue and hallowed sky
All the deaths are circling high

The red balloons, they wave
Goodbye, goodbye!

A tether, rope, a silver twine
To take you from the five or nine
Or thirty two or sixty five
However long you are alive

I hear the calling of the bells
Ring out in endless stony wells
To stand alone, but not to weep
The skeletons are all asleep
The fiery leaves begin to fly
Tis but to live, or but to die

The cold, the blue and hallowed sky
And all the deaths are circling high

The red balloons, they wave
Goodbye, goodbye!

This is beautiful. I often think of autumn in this way - the season of death, but the loveliest season in my opinion. Well done!
