Look No Further

She had always thought
‘True Love’ is a fantasy
Never easy
Finding a real soulmate
Going out with him
For a romantic date
She had earlier
Been scarred,
Her life marred
As her ‘guy’
Fell for
Someone else
And she
Could not even ask, ‘Why’
Then her lovelorn eyes
Would weep
Many, many nights
Would pass without sleep
She would seek solace
In the words
‘True Love’ is a fantasy
This went on for years
Her big eyes
Always red
With copious tears
Till........
He came along
Just slipped into
Her life
Someone long overdue
And now ......
She’s changed
Always wears a
Pinkish hue
Happiness at last for her
She whispers to herself
‘Look no further’.
