Look In the Mirror

The nightly dream
Of cutting all my hair off
Is growing more intent
Seeping into my waking hours
To live without any vanity
To be bare
To be re started
To be re awoken
To be re charged
To start from the beginning
I don't want to be me anymore
This long hair
I hide behind
As all my life
I have done
I want to be rid of
I want to be a new
I want to wash away
The black dog
I want to wash away
All that has been me
In the hope that one day
I can wake up
Look in the mirror
And for once
Feel free....

Guess we all get the urge to shake things up when we see the same image in the mirror day after day. Well written, from the heart. I can relate to this one, Jo. Hope you are doing OK. I've been thinking of you. Love, Carolyn
